Mindy Krasner, a professional ballet dancer who trained in New York City, was a member of major ballet companies in the United States and Europe, including Dutch National Ballet, Basel Ballet, Le Grand Ballet Canadian, American Ballet Theatre II, and Pennsylvania Ballet. For over a decade, she danced in productions such as “Swan Lake,” “Giselle,” “Cinderella,” “The Nutcracker,” and “Mid-Summer Night’s Dream,” as well as many Balanchine ballets and other modern and contemporary productions. Ms. Krasner toured internationally dancing in China, Japan, and Korea and in live-televised productions of “Swan Lake” in Switzerland and Germany. More recently, she danced Flamenco in the production of Heart Song at the Fountain Theatre in Hollywood.

 

Ms. Krasner completed intensive training for teaching Creative Dance for people of all ages with Anne Green Gilbert at the Creative Dance Center in Seattle, the Professional Artists Teaching in K-12 Schools at City Center in New York City, and the Dance Education Laboratory workshops at the 92nd Street Y Harkness Dance Center in New York City. She also completed the Arts in Healthcare Intensive at the University of Florida and has had extensive training in Laban/Bartenieff Fundamentals.

Ms. Krasner had her own Creative Movement program including the BrainDance at Anthem in Henderson, NV, and also taught at the University of Nevada Las Vegas, and the Community College of Southern Nevada. She participated in the “Artist as Educators” program sponsored by the Nevada Arts Council, Clark County Parks and Recreation, and the Kennedy Center. She has taught Creative Dance in elementary schools in Clark County and has received Professional Development Grants, BETA grants, and Development grants from the Nevada Arts Council.

Ms. Krasner taught Ballet and Creative Dance for children at the Stamford City Ballet School, SUNY Youth Ballet at Purchase College in New York, the Foothills Montessori School, Nevada Ballet Theater, Kravenko Dance School in Las Vegas, the Bloom School of Music and Dance in Los Angeles, Marshall High School in Pasadena, CA, in the LAUSD at Carlos Santana Arts Academy in North Hills, Pasadena City College, Chandler School in Pasadena, California Dance Academy in Chatsworth, California DanceArts, and Santa Clarita Ballet Academy. Currently Ms. Krasner teaches at California School of the Arts San Gabriel Valley where she teaches Ballet, Pointe, and Dance History.

Ms. Krasner also founded and directed the Freedom Dance Company from 2007-2010, which provided dance performances and instruction to an underserved population of people facing life- threatening illness. In 2010, she received a grant from the Met Life Foundation and the National Guild for Community Arts Education for a Creative Aging Project in partnership with the Adult Day Care Center of Las Vegas, which resulted in a successful Creative Dance program for seniors including the BrainDance. Following that program she conducted a BrainDance Teacher Training workshop for the staff at the Adult Day Care Center. Additionally Ms. Krasner has taught Creative Dance for seniors at Wise and Healthy Aging in Santa Monica, and the North Hollywood Senior Arts Colony in Los Angeles.

Currently, Ms. Krasner resides in Pasadena, CA and teaches Ballet to children and adults as well as private instruction in yoga, posture and dance. She also offers other classes such as Virtual Gentle Yoga, Posture and Footcare & Balance Workshops where she helps people find the joy of moving and feeling free in their bodies.
